My Philosophy

At the heart of my therapeutic approach lies a deep belief in the inherent resilience of the human spirit. Life presents us with a myriad of challenges, and it's during these times that we often feel most vulnerable. I understand that navigating these complexities can be daunting, and I firmly believe that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

My philosophy is grounded in the conviction that within each individual resides the capacity for growth and healing. I see my role as a supportive guide, a compassionate witness, and a collaborative partner on your journey towards well-being. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with authenticity and vulnerability.

My aim is to empower you to develop the skills and insights necessary to navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience. I believe that by fostering self-awareness, building meaningful connections, and cultivating a sense of purpose, you can create a life that is both fulfilling and authentic. I am dedicated to supporting you in discovering your own inner strength and embracing your full potential for growth and transformation.

FAQ

Q:  Are your sessions offered online or in-person?

A:  I offer both online and in-person therapy sessions to meet your needs and preferences. In-person sessions are held in a comfortable, private office setting, while online sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Whether you prefer the flexibility of virtual therapy or the connection of face-to-face meetings, we can find the option that works best for you.

Q:  I'd like to learn more about your approach. Can I schedule a brief consultation before committing to therapy?

A:  Absolutely. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to help you get a feel for what therapy with me might be like. It’s a chance to share what’s bringing you in, ask any questions about my approach, and see if working together feels like the right fit for you. There’s no pressure—just a supportive space to explore your next step.

Q:  What are your areas of specialization, and what therapeutic approaches do you primarily use?

A:  I believe that therapy is a personalized process, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore, I draw upon a diverse range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. I consider these tools as a personalized toolbox, carefully selected and tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Q:  Do you have experience working with individuals who have [specific issues, e.g., anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties]?

A:  Yes, I specialize in supporting individuals through life transitions, anxiety, and relationship challenges—including couples work and therapy for adolescent and teen girls navigating self-esteem and identity development.
